Touchless Patient Education was inspired by the precautions that we all had to take at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Both doctors and patients were concerned about getting infected, infecting others, and practicing social distancing measures while in the office.
These concerns led most health care offices to remove patient touchpoints such paper brochures, magazines, and sign-in sheets. Even though patient education brochures were removed from the office, patients still needed information about their health conditions.
In the beginning, the lack of paper brochures meant that doctors or their staff members had to verbally deliver information that patients could previously obtain for themselves. This additional time and effort spent on patient education became challenging for both the doctors and the staff, and we determined that there had to be a better way.
From this, the concept of Touchless Patient Education was created.
